"The government is also considering to recruit youth from the northeast in Delhi Police. This would not only give them exposure but would also help promote national integration," he said.

Recalling one of his plans to invite women police officers from the northeast to Gujarat to promote cooperation Modi said, "When I was a chief minister I had a plan to bring 200 women police officers from each of the northeastern states on a two-year rotational deputation to Gujarat. That would have been a perfect example of national integration."

In his brief speech, Modi also asked the Manipuri youth to keep away from drugs. "Drugs will not only destroy you but also your family. I feel said when I hear cases of drug addiction among Manipuri youth.
"The Manipuri youth have huge potential to contribute richly to the country. They shouldn't waste their time in drugs,"  Modi said.
