Boundary issue: Mao Council withdraws memo

SENAPATI:Moa Council (MC) has withdrawn the memorandum dated April 23, 2015 submitted to the Manipur government on ‘Koziiri & Dzüko Land Boundary Resolution’ with immediate effect.

Informing this in a press release, Mao Council publicity wing said that the decision was made in order to uphold the unity and integrity of Naga people as advised by the Tenyimi People’s Organizations. The memorandum submitted under the aegis of Mao Council stands withdrawn, it added.

In June, Tenyimi People’s Organization (TPO) resolved to constitute a judicial body to address the standoff between Southern Angami People’s Organization (SAPO) and Mao Council.

At the meeting, the house also resolved to suspend any resolution passed or adopted in the past on the matter.

Later, TPO constituted a board of Arbitrators comprising one member each from the ten TPO units to resolve and adjudicate the imbroglio between the Mao Council and SAPO over Kezoltsa/Kozürü and Dzukou valley.
