Night curfew along Myanmar border

IMPHAL: Night curfew along Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur has been clamped to intensify counter-insurgency operation conducted by Army and Assam Rifles against North East militant groups taking shelter at the porous border. Manipur shares 380 km of international border with Myanmar. District magistrates of Ukhrul and Churachandpur have already prohibited movement of people during the night hours from 6 pm to 4 am for a period of six months under section 144 of CrPC. Similar order will also be issued by Chandel DM soon. State home department had instructed the district authority to promulgate the same, an official source said Friday.
