Jwalamukhi Battalion Apprehends KUFO Cadres

SENAPATI: Troops of Jwalamukhi Battalion under Senapati Brigade of Red Shield Division apprehended two active cadres of KUFO in an operation carried out on 06 Sep 2016. Based on specific input regarding presence of active cadres of KUFO in SL Veng, Ward No 16, Kangpokpi of Senapati district, an operation was launched by troops of Jwalamukhi Battalion that resulted in apprehension of Nagmkoneh @ Hengam, age 38 years, s/o Shehlal, resident of village Old Thengjang, PS Tamei, District – Tamenglong and Shein Lhouvum, age 45 years, s/o Seikhohou, resident of village  Thengjang PS Tamei, District – Tamenglong from the suspected house. They were apprehended along with One 9mm Pistol (Made in Korea U-089 FR-9mm), One 9mm Magazine (U-FR 9mm 089), Five Live rounds of 9mm, Six KUFO org Line yards, One US Dollar Note ($1), Two Jungle Caps, One Black colour wallet and Two Nokia Mobile Handset.

Spot interog revealed that they were active cadres of KUFO and were involved in various nefarious activities on behalf of the organisation. Nagmkoneh @ Hengam was a cabinet level officer of KUFO and holding the appointment of Chief Recruiting Officer of the organization. He is also the KUFO Camp Co-ordinator. Shein Lhouvum was a senior cadre who joined the organisation in 2015 and was looking after the department of Finance on IT road, Motbung and Leimakhong. They also revealed that they were trained in small arms weaponry at T/Gamnom. The operation by the troops of Red Shield Division showcases the efforts of Security Forces towards bringing normalcy to the state. The apprehended cadres along with recovered arms and ammunition were handed over to police for further investigation.  This information was given to PIB (DW) by Red Shield Division.
