IMPHAL: Manipur University Tribal Students’ Union (MUTSU) in association with All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM) staged a protest march demanding justice into the reservation in admission process of the University here today.

Holding placards which read: ‘Justice is what we want’, ‘Follow 31 pc for ST,’ ‘Where is our integrity’, ‘Equal treatment to all citizens’, etc, MUTSU and ATSUM members besides tribal students studying in colleges around Imphal started their march from Adimjati complex at Chingmeirong and moved towards Raj Bhavan here.

However, they were stopped by police at DM College gate. Later, five leaders were allowed to proceed to Raj Bhavan to hand over a memorandum.

On Tuesday, urging the Academic Council of Manipur University to follow and implement the Central Educational Institutions Reservation in Admission Amendment Act, 2012, MUTSU volunteers staged a sit-in protest.
