KMSS stages naked protest against Citizenship Bill in New Delhi

NEW DELHI: The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and 69 other indigenous organizations of Assam today stripped naked and covered themselves in banners against Centre’s move to table the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets in New Delhi’s Vijay Chowk and shouted slogans to dismiss the citizenship bill.
Traffic came to a standstill along the busy streets of Vijay Chowk as the protesters marched forward. Cops had to stop the activitists to prevent a ruckus.
This is considered to be one of the most historic protests of Assam.
Meanwhile, 70 organisations  are observing ‘hatred day’ across the state today as the JPC is set to submit its report on Citizenship Bill in the Lok Sabha.
The agitating bodies have further announced to launch an indefinite economic blockade from January 8 in protest against the government’s move to table the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
