IMPHAL: Mapithel Dam Affected Ching-Tam Organisation (MDACTO) is all set to agitate against the state government for giving false report to the central government regarding the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RR) package of Louphong Tangkhul village.

In a release, MDACTO chairman Ramthar Shaiza stated the state government had claimed that the RR package of Louphong Tangkhul which was never sanctioned, was already sanctioned in a VIP reference letter sent to the central government.
As the Louphong Tangkhul is situated at the catchment area of the reservoir of the Mapithel dam, 14 houses of the village had been in a relief camp at Louphong Primary School due to a crack in the earth in the past, it added.
During those days speaker Y Khemchand had visited the spot and had given financial support to those victims, continued the release.
Moreover, the engineer of the Water Resources Department has claimed in an intimation note to the central government that the village is situated far from the dam reservoir, it said.
It added that the villagers of Louphong Tangkhul will no longer give cooperation to the inept water resource engineer.
In the present situation, the slogans of the BJP led government which mentioned ‘Go to hills,’ ‘Go to village,’ ‘Housing for all,’ ‘Corruption free,’ ‘Removal of poverty,’ and others is indeed very amusing, the release further added.
