Dharamsala area declared containment zone after two persons in quarantine centre test COVID-19 positive
IMPHAL: An order issued in this regard by deputy commissioner, Imphal
West, Naorem Praveen, has sealed the area thereby imposing restrictions on
entry and exit of population from the containment area and vehicular movement
in the area.

was declared a containment zone on Wednesday after two residents of
Thangmeiband assembly constituency, who were quarantined in the centre at
Dharamsala tested COVID-19 positive.
An order issued in this regard by deputy
commissioner, Imphal West, Naorem Praveen, has sealed the area thereby imposing
restrictions on entry and exit of population from the containment area and
vehicular movement in the area. The order also directed for closure of schools,
offices, if any and banning public gathering of any type.
The schedule of containment area as identified
by the deputy commissioner is Gurudwara Road in the north, Dharamsala Road in
the south, Dharamsala Road running on the eastern side of Bhairodan Maxwell
Hindi Primary and High School in the east and Dharamsala Road running on the
eastern side of Calcutta/Kolkata Hardware Store in the west.
The other containment measures include
initiating active surveillance of COVID-19 cases and compulsory use of Aarogya
Setu application by all the people staying/residing within the containment
area.
It also warned that any
person/institution/organisation found violating any of the containment measures
shall be deemed to have committed and offence punishable under Section 188 of
the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
